On
April 12, 1861, Confederate forces began firing upon Fort Sumter,
signaling the start of the Civil War. The United States flag held
33 stars, but no standard pattern existed. As a result, there
was a huge variety of star patterns to be found although this
one was the most common.
Our fully sewn cotton 33-Star
Union Flags are U.S. made by experienced craftsmen using domestic
cotton and feature a tough canvas duck header with solid brass
grommets. We make them primarily for reenactments but their authentic
appearance make them the perfect accent for at-home decorating.
