The
Secession of South Carolina from the Union on December 20, 1860
began a string of secessions totaling 11 Southern states in all
and precipitating the outbreak of war. The War Between the States
began in April of 1861 and on July 4th, Kansas was officially
admitted to the Union and a new flag was adopted bearing 34 stars.
Since there was no official pattern of stars prescribed, various
imaginative examples exist, however, this flag was viewed as the
standard version.
Our outdoor nylon
34-star Union Civil War flags are crafted using 200-denier Dupont
SolarMax nylon. Stripes are sewn, stars are appliqued and the
flags are finished with a tough polyester duck header and solid
brass grommets.
