Philadelphia
Light Horse
Still in existense today as the First Troop Philadelphia City
Cavalry, the Philadelphia Light Horse Troop was established as
a volunteer unit by a group of gentlemen in November of 1774.
The British Union originally appeared in the canton, but was changed
to thirteen stripes. The Light Horse Troop carried this standard
at the battles of Princeton, Trenton, Germantown and Brandywine. |
