Are These the Folks Who Pretend to Represent the Little Guy?

Doesn't know what her husband does fo a living.John Edwards, the guy who degraded the noble vocation of ambulance-chasing by invoking the ghost of a dead child, making millions for himself in the process, is now degrading average Americans, using his wife as his mouthpiece.

Elizabeth Edwards lashed out at North Carolinian Monty Johnson, who has the bad fortune to live across the street from the Edwards home and fitness complex, for not meeting the Edwards’ high standards for landscaping. The problem it seems, at least according to Edwards, is that Johnson is a “rabid, rabid Republican.” Never mind that Johnson has lived there all his life and the Edwards family are the newcomers.

Other problems the Edwards’ have with Johnson include gun ownership, which almost certainly puts them on the outs with Virginia Senator Jim Webb. Says Edwards, “I don’t want my kids anywhere near some guy who, when he doesn’t like somebody, the first thing he does is pull a gun out. It scares the business out of me.”

Interestingly enough, that’s a very similar sentiment that many Americans, myself included, might express if the Edwards’ moved in next door: “I don’t want my kids anywhere near some guy who, when he doesn’t like somebody, the first thing he does is file a law suit. It scares the business out of me.”

Another Global Warming Apostate Surfaces at MIT

Another MIT scientist has come forward to dispute the wildly ominous predictions of modern-day prophet Al Gore and his legions of devoted followers. Writing in Newsweek, Richard S. Lindzen, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at MIT, concludes that not only is there is no evidence for predictions of planetary doom, implementation of Gore’s remedies will likely cost us dearly.

Lindzen writes, “The current alarm rests on the false assumption not only that we live in a perfect world, temperaturewise, but also that our warming forecasts for the year 2040 are somehow more reliable than the weatherman’s forecast for next week.”

And publisher, lawyer and college history professor Theodore P. Savas puts it this way, “As I have been explaining to my law and history students for the past 16 years, humans have a natural tendency to use their own short life spans as a yardstick for measuring what is “normal.” Therefore, …the natural conclusion of the uninformed and non-thinking among us is that what is happening today is “abnormal”—and thus something to fear.”

Will Gore’s sycophants listen to these voices of sanity? Don’t bet on it. As William F Buckley said in a column last week, “The whole business is eerily religious in feel.” And that is exactly what it is, a religion, complete with a canon, priests and prophets and quick to publicly denounce heretics.

British Hostage Release Signals the End of Great Britain’s Greatness

Although what was once the world’s greatest military has already been largely dismantled by British Euro-leftists, this latest Iran-hostage episode makes it official – Great Britain is now too weak to fight off the Islamization of it’s society.

The left in America and Great Britain are weeping tears of gratitude for the safe return of the Marines kidnapped by Iran in international waters two weeks ago and are elevating both the Marines and Iran’s Napoleon, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to hero status, legitimizing Iran’s dangerous actions.

According to the International Herald Tribune, in explaining why the Brits chose to surrender when attacked, Royal Marines Captain Chris Air said he “judged that if his crew tried to resist they would both lose the fight and cause a major international incident.” Only in the twisted logic of the left could the fact that this already is an international incident be completely lost and instead be viewed as a magnanimous gesture on the part of Iran.

America, the Left, and Rosie O’Donnell: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

This is already a week old, but I decided to include it because it’s well worth the listen – that is, if you have 45 minutes to spare. Evan Sayet isn’t exactly a household name, but having worked closely with some of today’s most repulsive leftist celebrities including the epitome of smug leftism, Bill Maher, his analysis is not only credible, but holds up when applied to almost any example of wacked-out leftism.

If you don’t have the time, the short synopsis is this: For the past several decades, the dominant (leftist) culture has asserted an agenda of indiscrimination into every facet of American life possible. From an early age, children are taught not to make value judgements, that winning is bad, etc. Hence, concepts such as “America is good,” or “the Bible is the word of God” are anathema since they require judgement (or as Sayet puts it, “discrimination”) to arrive at those conclusions.

According to Sayet, that’s why the left will reflexively choose evil (Islamic terrorism) over good (the American ideal of liberty) every time.

A great example of Sayet’s concept of how the left will embrace evil while they pillory good is Rosie O’Donnell’s current rant. O’Donnell, along with Charlie Sheen and millions of other leftists are claiming that the 9/11 atacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were “False Flag” operations carried out by the U.S. Government, presumably to turn the American people against the Islamic World.

O’Donnell, who’s lack of intelligence and education is embarrasing, is not interested in the facts when she makes utterly false and laughably stupid remarks such as, “I do believe that it’s the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel.” Plenty of eminently qualified scientists have weighed in on the subject including Thomas W. Eagar and Christopher Musso of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who prepared a good analysis of the collapse of the Twin Towers.

The facts will never matter to O’Donnell and like-minded leftists.

Chocolate Jesus: Why Won’t Our Leftist Media Give Equal Time to Cartoons of Mohammed?

Rosie O’Donnell, who, in a moment of of Orwellian exuberance Newsweek dubbed “the Queen of Nice,” has once again proved that her mouth is several times larger than her brain. Last September, O’Donnell told the audience of “The View” that “radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have separation of church and state,” which leads to the question, how exactly are “radical” Christians threatening O’Donnell and the grossly paranoid left?

This week, just about every mainstream media outlet is reporting that a Manhattan art gallery is exhibiting a life-size chocolate sculpture of a naked Jesus by artist Cosimo Cavallaro who has reportedly invited the public to stop by and have a bite. Of course, the artist, the gallery and the attached hotel (Roger Smith Hotel) are smugly doing their best to offend Christians and the media outlets are gleefully following along hoping for a reaction.

Yet, just about the only reaction so far has been from the Catholic League, calling for a boycott of the hotel. No riots, no bombs, no destruction of property, no death threats.

When a Danish cartoonist dared depict the Prophet Mohammed last year, rioting and carnage broke out across the Middle East and Europe and the same media that won’t hesitate to “report” insults to Christianity preferred to show restraint in not showing cartoons offensive to Muslims.

Burning American Flags and U.S. Soldiers – Just Another Sunday in the Park in Portland, Oregon

From Little Green Footballs come these telling photos of a Portland, Oregon “peace” march on Sunday.

Protesters burned an upside-down American flag (a two-for-the-price-of-one insult) and lynched and set on fire an American soldier in efigy. There’s nothing “peaceful” about the message here.

The morons who burn American flags and effigies of American servicemen while wearing masks are involved in a very obvious act of aggression against the rest of us who don’t agree with them. While they espouse “No Masters,” their actions are reminiscent of Hitler’s Brown Shirts. If a charismatic leader emerges from the ranks of this bunch, watch out.

Al Gore Steals a Scene From “Miracle on 34th Street”

Fresh off his exhilirating coronation as King of the Left at this year’s Oscar ceremonies, Al Gore showed today that he’s as sharp as a tack when it comes to his Hollywood history. According to the Associated Press, at today’s congressional hearings on global warming, Gore brought “a stack of boxes… containing hundreds of thousands messages asking Congress to act on global warming,” emulating the famous scene from “Miracle on 34th Street” when the U.S. Postal Service delivers thousands of letters to Santa Claus in a New York courtroom.

As in the movie, Gore apparently believes his boxes of messages will serve as “proof” that man-made global warming is a fact. And once again playing the fool, Gore has failed to consider that “Miracle on 34th Street” was really nothing more than warm-hearted fantasy – no one that has ever seen that movie has walked away believing that the existence of Santa Claus was proved in the real world.

However, the idiots on the left, devoid of any ability to seperate fantasy from reality, will think that Gore’s props were a clever and irrefutable addition to his testimony today. Somewhere along the way, science stopped being science and has now become all ideology and political showmanship.

Al Gore to Debate Global Warming? When Hell Freezes Over.

As the high priest of the Church of Global Warming, Al Gore has declared “the debate is over” on the “moral issue” of global warming.

Apparently, Lord Monckton, who was once an advisor to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, hasn’t received that bit of news from his advisors. Monckton has sent a formal letter to Gore at his energy-sucking estate challenging him to debate his global warming claims one-on-one on live television. The letter reads:

“The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley presents his compliments to Vice- President Albert Gore and by these presents challenges the said former Vice-President to a head-to-head, internationally-televised debate upon the question, ‘That our effect on climate is not dangerous,’ to be held in the Library of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History at a date of the Vice-President’s choosing.

“Forasmuch as it is His Lordship who now flings down the gauntlet to the Vice-President, it shall be the Vice-President’s prerogative and right to choose his weapons by specifying the form of the Great Debate.  May the Truth win!  Magna est veritas, et praevalet. God Bless America! God Save the Queen!”

Gore can barely hold his own when reading from a script. Don’t expect him to accept the challenge and risk being dethroned.

Are the Valerie Plame Hearings Really the First Step in the Impeachment Process?

The Democrat controlled Congress is making sure their message is heard at the start of Valerie Plame’s congressional hearings. Watching Plame’s opening testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee this morning, what appeared to be a man dressed in a pink women’s outfit with a pink t-shirt that read, “IMPEACH BUSH NOW,” was carefully positioned in full view sharing the screen with Plame’s head.

Playing Spy

Assuming that space is limited at a congressional hearing, that a fairly high level of security is maintained and that an equally high standard of decorum is expected, it seems almost incredible that such a sophmoric freak-show would be allowed. That is, until a couple of very important points are factored in.

First, the Pink Monster in Drag is not a freak-show to Democrats – he/she is what their party has become. The Democrat members of Congress who control this hearing are the ones who are disguised. In reality, many of them yearn to comport themselves as the Pink Monster does.

And second, Democrats are using the Pink Monster to telegraph what these hearings are really all about – an opening salvo in the official battle to impeach the President.

Congressman Pete Stark Declares Atheism

In case anybody has missed it, there are two Americas quickly emerging, just not the two Americas of the “Haves” and “Have Nots” as Presidential candidate John Edwards likes to suggest. The two Americas can be broadly described as those who believe in God and those who do not.

Almost all politicians either avoid the subject whenever possible or simply lie about their beliefs. Not to pick on John Edwards, but along with Howard Dean & Bill Clinton, he’s a great example of a politician who finds it easy to feign belief in God. Clinton carried a Bible while cheating on his wife every chance he got, Dean quoted verses from the Bible while campaigning but later viciously attacked Christians, and Edwards tells us what Jesus would think of us, conveniently forgetting that he has made millions raping the health care industry with bogus lawsuits.

Now, Congressman Pete Stark, D-California, has come out of the closet, admitting his Atheism and throwing in a slap at believers. Stark told the Associated Press that he “does not believe in a supreme being.” He further added “I look forward to working with the Secular Coalition (of America) to stop the promotion of narrow religious beliefs in science, marriage contracts, the military and the provision of social services.”

Of course, folks who believe in God think that leaving God out of the mix narrows one’s understanding of subjects such as science, marriage, the military and social services. But leaving the political double-talk of Congressman Stark aside, what will the so-called broad views of Atheism ultimately lead us to?

When a God who stands in judgement is eliminated, as the left is trying to do, acceptable behavior is defined by whatever society can be bullied into accepting. By attacking and demonizing not just the believers but the belief itself, the left is slowly but surely eroding our ability to object to aberrant behaviors on moral grounds.
