An angry mob stormed the U.N. facility in Beirut on Sunday in response to an Israeli bombing in southern Lebanon that left more than 50 people dead. Among the various vandilizations performed by the rioters, they burned and stomped on American flags as well as U.N. flags and the flag of Israel, all while chanting “Death to Israel, death to America!”

According to most news sources, the death of Lebanese civilians at Qana as a result of the Israeli air strike has turned “world opinion” against Israel and the United States. For close to three straight weeks, Hezbollah has been firing as many as 100 rockets a day, more than 1500 altogether, targeting the civilian population of Israel.

But try and find an accurate body count of innocent Israelis killed by the Hezbollah rockets. The entire world press, including here in the U.S. is almost exclusively focused on the 54 innocents killed in Lebanon. As far as the leftists who control the press are concerned, the Hezbollah goal to seek the destruction of Israel and the United States is legitimate while any attempt by Israel to prevent more rocket attacks is an “outrage.”

The notion that an Israeli air strike that killed innocent civilians because Hezbollah has been firing their rockets from civilian neighborhoods has caused “world opinion” to turn against Israel and America is nothing more than a cynical lie. The “world opinion” in question has long been against us full force.

A “world opinion” that holds as acceptable, the murder of innocent Israelis at the hands of cowardly terrorists who openly admit that they do not wish to live in peace with Israel but instead, seek the anhilation of Israel first and America second, is nothing short of evil incarnate.

The line is being drawn and the sides are forming. Take note of those who condemn Israel for daring to protect herself while voicing support for Hezbollah. They are the enemy of liberty.

Cindy Sheehan, who’s pathetic attempts to garner attention have not achieved the desired result, has purchased (under false pretenses) a five acre parcel of land in Crawford, Texas, not far from the President’s spread.

Sheehan has gone to outrageous lengths to keep herself in the public eye, using anything and anyone in her path to try to achieve the level of importance she evidently thinks she deserves. And as a result, she has left a trail of deception and betrayal in her wake. As an example, take a look at the photos below of her book-signing last year.

No one showed up, so Sheehan had her photog clevely position the American flag to hide the fact that the place was empty. In fact, the only people who ever show up at Sheehan events are her far left America-hating comrades and the press and only half the contingent made it to this one.

But Sheehan is not giving up quite yet. Her latest deception involves the purchase of the Crawford property through a third party who deliberately did not disclose the purpose of the aquisition.

The former owner of the property, Celia Ramsey, told a reporter that purchaser Gerry Fonseca had explained that he was a refugee of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Fellow traveller Fonseca, who completed the deal on behalf of Sheehan, stated, “I doubt they would have sold her the property if she tried to buy it herself.”

And as for Sheehan’s intentions, she appears to be a little mystified that her efforts to date have not had the desired effect. “I thought President Bush would have resigned by now,” she said. “But I am happy about a permanent home in Crawford.” She has invited the usual collection of disgruntled morons to visit her new plot of ground in August when Bush shows up in Crawford for his vacation.

U.S. Senate candidate from Florida, Katherine Harris, demanded yesterday that Democrat Party Chairman Howie Dean apologize for comparing her to Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. Dean, as you may recall, was the Democrat candidate for President in 2004 who sucked so badly that he couldn’t even beat Theresa Heinz’ yes-man, John Kerry.

According to the Associated Press, “…Harris’ campaign said Dean’s comments comparing her to a communist dictator responsible for millions of deaths ‘reflect a lack of understanding and basic decency.’”

The official Democrat Party reaction came from spokesman Luis Miranda who accused Harris of “trying to deflect attention from her failing campaign and blunders.” Besides being utter nonsense, Miranda’s reply is an obvious attempt to “deflect attention” from psychotic clown Howie Dean who is making enormous strides towards destroying the credibility of the Democrat Party.

Democrat Party Chairman Howard Dean, a man who is incapable of making a reasoned argument or telling the truth, for that matter, is at it once again. That the Democrats have kept him in that position tells us that MoveOn.org spoke the truth when they said that they have bought and paid for the Democrat Party.

Dean gave a speech in Florida to about 240 party faithful of the Democratic Professionals Forum, a group we would guess is mostly made up of ABA members, in which he referred to Senate candidate Katherine Harris as a crook and likened her to Joseph Stalin. The truly disgraceful thing about Dean’s rant was that he performed it standing in front of an American flag.

While serving as Secretary of State in Florida, did Harris secretly order the executions of millions of Floridians while the press heaped praise on her? Because as leader of the Soviet Union, Stalin ordered and sometimes performed himself, the murder of 20 million of his own people while the Soviet press declared him a Hero of the Revolution.

Surely Dean, as the mouthpiece for the communist wing of the Democrat Party, knows all about the hero of the “Progressives,” Joseph Stalin. Perhaps Dean, in his deepening delusional state, fancies himself as the leader of his very own communist revolution.

With the exception of a few conservative bloggers, like the folks at Tongue Tied, and the standard news outlets, this one passed under the radar yesterday. President Bush signed a bill sponsored by Maryland Republican Roscoe Bartlett designed to put an end to the harassment of homeowners who display the American flag by politically motivated homeowners associations.

Cases of homeowner association officials who become unhinged at the mere sight of an American flag have been growing rapidly in the last decade or so. Incidents of homeowners being forced to pay huge fines or face forclosure, although not common, have nevertheless occured. That it’s even remotely possible for an American to lose his or her home for displaying an American flag is beyond belief.

Those on the left will undoubtedly view the bill as a ridiculous waste of time and taxpayer money because so few of them understand or care about Americans who love their country and have a strong desire to fly the flag. But time and time again, rogue homeowner associations have proved to be motivated by a leftist political ideology that is more concerned with contempt for America than the integrity of the community. This bill therefore, represents a small victory over the America-haters.

A protest march in New Zealand yesterday that turned into a small riot unfortunately exemplifies the leftist position on the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. That position has less to do with the facts of the conflict and more to do with the left’s irrational hatred for the United States and Israel.

Why does the U.S. enter in to the debate? In the developing world-wide conflict, the left is choosing to side with Islam because Islam, like the left, views Christians and Jews as the enemy. And unlike Europe, Christianity and Judaism are taken seriously in America and Israel. Consider that a primary target of yesterday’s march was the U.S. Consulate where protesters pulled down the American flag before clashing with police.

David Horowitz writes in FrontPageMagazine.com today that contrary to the drumbeat we are hearing from the left, Hezbollah fighters are not the innocent targets of Israeli aggression. The situation is, in fact, just the opposite. As Jennifer Griffin of Fox News reported a few days ago, Hezbollah terrorists have not moved in to occupy southern Lebanon because they live there already. She pointed out that women and children have often been casualties because it’s their husbands, fathers and brothers who are the Hezbollah fighters.

Hezbollah deliberately places family members in harm’s way to discourage retaliation for their attacks. And contrary to leftist media reports that Israel pulled the trigger first, consider that Hezbollah has built a complex system of tunnels in southern Lebanon that have been very well stockpiled with armaments in preparation for an offensive. This conflict did not just happen overnight.

The photograph above shows Muslims a half a world away doing what they typically do - burn some American flags - to demonstrate for the cameras their hatred for America. It’s not all that unsettling to see these images, even though they involve a burning American flag, because the distance that seperates us from them is so great that we instinctively feel there is no imminent threat. Let them burn all the flags they want. Let them perform those goofy chants and self-flagellations in the streets if they want. They don’t have a long enough stick to take a whack at us. Or do they?

Well, of course they do. The attacks of 9/11 were carried out by Muslims with the same proclivities living and working right here in America. Does anyone in his right mind (that excludes, of course, the Howard Dean and MoveOn.org wing of the Democrat Party) believe that those 19 or so terrorists happened to be the only ones living here among us?

Consider the photos below that show Muslims protesting Israel’s right to protect it’s citizens. This particular protest took place in New York City last week. Take a close look at the imagery. Two young women standing on the flag of Israel. A claim that “Allah will destroy the terrorist state of Israel.” A Star of David with a Nazi Swatstika in the center.

And most chillingly, a photograph of the White House with the caption, “Islam Will Dominate!”

Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard wrote a column last week calling for U.S. involvement in the current conflict and confrontation with Iran. Pat Buchanan countered with a column in WorldNetDaily.com entitled “No, This is Not ‘Our War’” in which Buchanan sounds like a leftist, finding moral equivalence between Hezbollah terrorism and Israeli defense.

Kristol is correct in the sense that the enemy Israel is fighting is one and the same as the enemy that America faces. That we should challenge Iran, however, is premature. What we should be doing is to squarely face the enemy among us and root them out. People who march in U.S. streets declaring that Islam will dominate are clearly the enemy.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad likened the Israelis to Hitler and likewise, the leftists here in America are fond of labeling Bush as Hitler and conservatives as Nazis. Pronouncements like these are not at all instructive but rather, are designed to villify the perceived enemy without revealing the true agenda, which is the eventual elimination of Jews and Christians.

What is instructive however, is to examine the similarities and the loose alliance between Muslim extremists and the collection of raving nutcases (Howard Dean for example), Christian bashers, anarchists, socialists, America haters, perpetual adolescents and anti-Semites that call themselves “Progressives.”

There are just a few themes that tie these disparate groups together. Otherwise, the American left has nothing in common with the Muslims they express so much adoration for.

Movie director Robert Altman infamously said, “When I see an American flag flying, it’s a joke.” His view reflects that of mainstream Hollywood as well as the rest of far-left America. It seems to be a truism that the leftists who have derived the greatest benefit from American citizenship also harbor the greatest hatred for their country.

That homely poster-child for the rabid anti-Bush crowd, Cindy Sheehan, embraces every enemy of America she can, but none more than the Palestinians and other Muslim terrorists. Along with groups like ANSWER and Code Pink, she denounces Israel and has called for the destruction of Israel and America.

The irony is that if either one of them actually lived in an Islamic society, they would have been executed a long time ago. As a woman, Sheehan would not be permitted to stand in front of a microphone and open her large mouth. In Muslim societies, women must maintain a low profile if they wish to remain above ground and vertical.

And likewise, boozers and potheads like Altman and friends would quickly learn how unwelcome they are and they would not be entitled to a fair trial before being beheaded. In fact, all the aberrant behaviors that the left champion as free speech would be grounds for immediate execution under Islamic law.

Can this be true? Has Iranian President and diminutive weasel Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, like the Grinch, suddenly grown an oversized heart?

Ahmadinejad said yesterday that the Israelis “act like Hitler” which evidently means that he now admires them. He has, on more than one occasion, notoriously claimed that Hitler never ordered the massacre of Jews and that the Holocaust is not historical fact but simply a fabrication.

So logically, we can conclude that to be compared to Hitler (in the bizarro world of President Ahmadinejad) means that Israel has been wrongly accused and is in fact, completely innocent.

Of course, that’s really not what he means at all, but Ahmadinejad has revealed, in his zeal to taunt Israel, that he knows and believes the Holocaust to be true.

New York Daily News columnist Michael Goodwin has written a lucid and concise summarization of what we are facing as a nation that carries the headline, “It’s World War III, and U.S. is out of ideas.”

The piece is important not only because it correctly frames the world situation, but because it is coming from the Daily News, a newspaper that is not exactly known as being peopled by a bunch of American flag wavers.

However, there are a couple of points that Goodwin fails to make, possibly because the left typically will deliberately fail to make them. First, there is no mention of Russia in the equation, even while President Putin has reversed the gears and is moving his country rapidly back to a reasonable facsimile of the old Soviet state. The left has always had an adolescent crush on the Soviet Union and will ignore almost any violation of human rights and freedom the Russian government cares to engage in.

And second, whether Goodwin likes it or not, the battleground for full scale armed conflict is likely to be, at least initially, the middle east. That likelyhood has been with us for a long time, going back at least as far as the Carter administration. The left just can’t bring themselves to concede that our presence in Iraq may ultimately prove to be strategically important to the U.S. militarily.

But Goodwin hits the nail squarely on the head when he identifies Islam and anti-Americanism as the catalysts for the coming conflict. Let’s hope that the alarm bells Goodwin is ringing are heard.
